Saha is a Sanskrit word that means impossible to grasp or insubstantial. The literal translation of the word is "rosebush-like." In other words, having beautiful flowers and at the same time thorns that will stick the person who tries to grasp it too tightly. Buddha used this word to describe the world, and this "saha world" of which he spoke is sometimes translated as a floating or dewdrop world. If you try to hold on to a particular moment you will miss the beauty of the moment. It is in this way that the world is impossible to grasp and in a way insubstantial.
For me, saha means ephemeral and changing. I am inspired by my raw materials. Each of my designs marks a convergence of time, inspiration, and raw materials that at any other time, with any other materials, would not have come to be.
